How did you hear about Lakeside? My Lakeside story is much like many others. My mother was a “Gate Girl,”my father worked as a waiter, and they met up here one summer. As fate would have it, they ended up getting married in the Hotel Lakeside lobby. I’ve been coming up here every summer for as long as I can remember, watching the fireworks shoot off the end of the dock every 4th of July. I had the opportunity to work at Ooh La La two summers ago and feel so blessed to be back in such a wonderful community for this internship.

What are you most looking forward to this summer at Lakeside? I’m looking forward to cooking contests with my fellow interns, sunset runs, long days of sailing, watching acrobats at Hoover, and indulging in a lot of Whistle Stop Moose Tracks.

What do you hope to gain from this experience? After just recently finishing my Freshman year, I’m thankful for the opportunity to just experiment with potential jobs. I hardly know what I’d like to do with the rest of my life and this is a risk-free way of trying multiple careers. I’d like to gain knowledge more than anything.

Name one goal you hope to achieve this summer? My goal for this summer is to collect as many .25 cent books from lawn sales as physically possible.

What are some of your hobbies and what do you enjoy doing in your free time? Some of my hobbies include playing tennis with friends, volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club of Atlanta, reading books on the porch, and swim off the “L” dock. In my free time I like to watch old movies with my friends, take road trips to the beach, attend plays and musicals put on by my university, and volunteer with my fellow sisters of Alpha Chi Omega.

What is one of your proudest moments you have achieved thus far in life? My proudest moment to date was certainly my acceptance to Georgia Tech. With an acceptance rate of 25%, I had very little hope. With such high academic standards and an excellent business school, Georgia Tech was my dream school.

What is your dream job? I have absolutely no problem saying that I don’t know what I’d like to do with my career quite yet. Hopefully this summer will give me a better glimpse into my future.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself. The pink Starburst are my favorite flavor.
