A large crowd of happy well-wishers celebrated the grand opening of Lakeside Spa & Salon in its brand new location on Walnut St. Owner Stacy Johannsen has been in Lakeside for the past 18 years, but the space on 2nd st. had grown too small. Her new location on Walnut, next to the Historical Society, is a vast improvement; offering the opportunity to expand services.

“I am excited for this new day and this journey,” said Johannsen, “It’s been a long time coming – we outgrew our space years ago. To have opportunity to better serve the community is super exciting to me.”

The salon is full service, offering hair styling, nails, facials and massage therapy. Two stylists work with her full time and she has 2 part-time massage therapists and a nail tech at her new facility.

To successfully own and operate a business for 18 years is quite the accomplishment. Studies have shown a full 20% of small businesses fail in their first year and 70% of small businesses don’t make it past their tenth birthday. The dictionary definition of an “Entrepreneur” is “a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so”, but that doesn’t tell you about a person’s makeup. What about their energy – drive – determination? Entrepreneur Stacy Johannsen has the drive, ambition and more.

Congratulations to Stacy Johannsen and her staff on the new salon and a very bright future.
