Sheri Trusty from the Port Clinton News Herald visited the 19th Annual Lakeside Wooden Boat Show on Sunday, July 17. Thank you to Sheri and her team for highlighting this important Lakeside tradition.

When Mame Drackett was growing up, she spent a lot of time watching her father build boats at his business, Sandusky Boats.

“And I spent a lot of time falling off the docks. I was always in the water by mistake,” she said.

Mame’s grandfather helped her father run Sandusky Boats, and her grandmother was the business’ secretary. Spending her childhood amongst wood and water grew a passion for boats in Mame that has remained her entire life. Her husband, Bill Drackett, honored that passion when he surprised her with one of her father’s original boats. Read the full article.
