Year after year, volunteers help to keep Lakeside running smoothly. From Spring Cleanup Day to the Lighthouse Festival and everything in between, we’re able to provide a memorable Chautauqua experience to so many Lakesiders because of our dedicated volunteers.

Our volunteers leave their mark all over Lakeside. They come together in the spring to help prepare the grounds and buildings for summer guests. They greet concert-goers and worshippers with smiling faces and open arms in Hoover. They work hand in hand with Lakeside’s Grounds Crew to keep the community looking beautiful. They work tirelessly on behalf of the Lakeside Fund through meetings, phone calls, emails and more. They spend time at the Rhein Center teaching classes, checking in students and nurturing an appreciation for the arts.

Although you may not realize it, Lakeside’s volunteers are scattered throughout the community, helping to bring you the Lakeside experience you know and love.

For this year’s National Volunteer Week (April 23-29), we want to pause and thank all of our wonderful volunteers. Without your continued dedication, Lakeside would not be the special place that it is year after year.

It’s because of your valuable time and unending love that this community has been able to grow and thrive for more than 140 years. The time, talent and treasure given by each Lakeside volunteer has a significant impact on our beloved community and is deeply appreciated.

Join us this summer as we celebrate Lakeside volunteers at our Volunteer Recognition Picnic on Saturday, Aug. 5. All Lakeside volunteers are welcome to attend so that we may recognize your contributions in bringing Lakeside Chautauqua’s mission to life. RSVP by Friday, July 28 to or (419) 798-4461, ext. 246.
